The director and senior psychologist of My Relationships is Dilek Yucel. My Relationships is all about learning how to show up in YOUR life in the way that you have always wanted and more importantly how to be more present in your significant relationships.

Often the main cause of pain and suffering is a feeling of overwhelm and feeling out of control. Therapy is a tool for you to step up and take control of your own life. Don’t know where to start? My Relationships provides services globally through remote video sessions and in-person for anyone in the Melbourne metropolitan area. About Dilek Yucel

Dilek Yucel has over 30 years of experience as a registered Counselling Psychologist and Family Therapist. Working in a very client-centred way, Dilek applies therapy and modalities to suit where the client is at in the moment. Clients come into therapy with a purpose and Dilek will work hard to help focus on that purpose rather than imposing an agenda on the client.

Dilek has a work history as a family violence worker, child & adolescent therapist, school counsellor and Head of Wellbeing in secondary school education, couples therapist, therapeutic group facilitator. She works with a range of client groups including; individuals, couples, families, children, and young people. Passionate about working with couples, Dilek’s focus is to assist in the process of co-creating the type of loving and healthy relationship they desire. She also works in relationship recovery with couples that are in crisis and conflict, helping them to cover the open wounds that tear apart the intimacy and finding strategies that help heal and rebuild the relationship. THERAPY DOG:

Dilek has a trained and accredited therapy dog named Bali.

Bali and Dilek have become Level Two- Certified as a Visiting Therapy Dog and Handler Team. They completed an intensive 6-day training at Lead The Way Institute. The training included a meet and greet with children and a visit to an aged care facility.

This means that Bali has been assessed as responsive on lead and enjoys being around people.

Bali is a 3-year-old Moodle (Maltese x Miniature Poodle) has a loving temperament and enjoys playing fetch with toys. Bali’s coat is non-shedding and hypoallergenic.

Therapy dogs have been shown to reduce the stress chemical cortisol in the brain and trigger the release of oxytocin, which plays a positive role in social bonding. Therapy dogs have been also known to help clients feel more emotionally safe in counselling settings.
